Hello to our fabulous friends, family and supporters.

Wow, what a fantastic first half of 2023!

You may be thinking, “Gee… it has been awhile since I’ve seen a newsletter from these folks!” and you would be right. We have been a little busy over here and we can’t wait to update you on
our recent projects, as well as share developments and new offerings.

I am so honored to have had the opportunity to return to a sector that is near and dear to my heart: Non-Profits. It was immensely fulfilling to work with Wilderness Youth Project and the Community Environmental Council this spring and summer respectively. We contributed to the aforementioned organizations, as well as the Wildlife Care Network, through 1% for the Planet.

A little business update: we have been exploring different ways to bring Lush Elements into your offices, corporate events and homes through our two new offerings: Lush Rental Walls and Lush Medallions.

And finally, for our plant enthusiasts, read to the end for tips on how to keep your plants looking LUSH and gorgeous this summer.

Warm and sunny wishes,

Terra Basche

Founder & Lead Designer

Supporting Local Non-Profits

In our community, the symbiotic relationship between local businesses and non-profit organizations plays a vital role in fostering a strong and thriving community. We are thrilled to have had the time and means to give back to our Santa Barbara community through in-kind and monetary donations to a few local non-profits. Here are two projects we have worked on so far this year.

This floor-to-ceiling mossy forest floor inspired Lush Wall greets meeting goers and community activists at the State St. entrance to the CEC’s Environmental Hub. Continuing on into the space, one walks under a carved wood canopy mounted to the ceiling and ends in the open atrium’s centerpiece: a large ficus tree!

Upcycled wine barrel rings shape this series of Lush Medallions.

This 8’ wide by 4’ tall green ombre Lush Wall spans the width of a wall in the Environmental Hub’s loft.

When designing the pieces for the Community Environmental Council’s new Environmental Hub in Santa Barbara, our primary inspiration was sustainability. Lush Walls are inherently sustainable as they require no maintenance and no water. In addition, we upcycled materials used in these pieces as a way to be mindful of the CEC’s efforts to better the climate.

It was with much joy and playfulness that we approached this 7.5’ wide by 3’ tall Lush Wall Tryptic at the Wilderness Youth Project’s new headquarters in the Riviera Campus Historic District. Inspired by the natural materials that the Environmental Educators and participants may encounter during a program out in the wild we combed parks and beaches to find bits and pieces of nature to include in this series.

New Product Update:

Introducing Lush Rental Walls and Lush Medallions

Lush Rental Walls

Do you have an upcoming corporate event or meeting in the Santa Barbara area? Consider our versatile Lush Rental Walls! Our moveable Lush Rental Walls add an organic flair and customizable touch to offsite events. Think of the possibilities: a gorgeous living wall stage backdrop, a step-and-repeat with plants, a branded selfie plant wall for greater social media presence and connection, a wall of plants that will act as a movable divider in different spaces to create customizable spaces at different times.

Lush Medallions

Our Lush Wall collection includes Lush Medallions. Intricately designed, these moss-filled circles can be customized with your own logo or designed to match any interior color palette and their variety of sizes allow them to be mounted in a diversity of settings. A perk to these beauties is that they are zero maintenance!

Summer Plant Tip:

Water, water, water! And keep ‘em out of direct UVs.

A long, varied succulent stunner on a residential patio on a warm Summer day.

As the weather warms up, it is important to keep a close eye on indoor and outdoor plants because they tend to dry out quicker than you may expect. A lack of water can lead to stunting new growth. And just like our bodies, plants usually kept indoors can easily be sunburned when exposed to direct UV rays for too long. So if you’re giving your indoor plants a staycation on your patio this summer, make sure they are in the shade and protected from too much direct afternoon sunlight.

Set up a FREE consultation for your space to learn how your environment could benefit from Lush Elements indoors or on the patio. We look forward to seeing you soon!
